Rajan Sharma

Rajan Sharma is a highly experienced professional specializing in trading across border, transportation and logistics. He has held esteemed positions such as Former Chairman of the Transportation and Logistics Committee and Executive Member of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) from 2014 to 2019. Additionally, he served as the Former President of the Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (NEFFA) from 2013 to 2019.

Currently, Rajan Sharma serves as an advisor to the Commodity Council and Transport and Transit Committee of FNCCI, as well as the Nepal Freight Forwarders Association (2021-2023). Furthermore, he is a Short-Term Consultant for Trade and Transport at The World Bank, focusing on enhancing regional connectivity (2021-2023). He actively participates in disaster and climate change initiatives in Nepal’s logistics sector through collaborations with UN ESCAP, Transport Division in Bangkok, and the Coffee Quality Champion program with ITC under the EU TIP program.

Rajan Sharma holds key positions including Vice President of the European Economic Chamber of Commerce, Executive Member of the Nepal India Chambers of Commerce and Industries, and Advisor to the SMEs Federation of Nepal. Furthermore, he serves as the CEO/Director of Quality Freight Service Pvt. Ltd., a Freight Forwarding Company, where he oversees day-to-day business operations related to export, import, and transport logistics. His hands-on experience provides him with valuable insights into trade and commerce, customs facilitation, and the logistics infrastructure of the country. Rajan Sharma’s expertise extends to writing articles on trade-related issues, which have been published in Nepalese newspapers, souvenirs, and national and international magazines.

Additionally, he actively contributes to training sessions on food hygiene, international trade, and insurance within relevant sectors.

Rajan Sharma possesses an extensive research background and has authored numerous articles in his field. Notably, he has collaborated with the International Trade Center in Geneva on various projects. These projects include identifying Non-Tariff Measures (NTMs), preparing export guides for Herbal/MAPS and woolen carpets for the Chinese market, and developing export guides for Coffee and Pashmina products targeting the USA, Europe, Japan, South Korea, England, and Switzerland (2021-2023).

He has also developed the Coffee Quality Compass for Nepal, as well as Fresh Basal and Dragon fruit quality compass for Vietnam and Lao PDR in collaboration with ITC, Geneva. He has worked on essential oil exports with GIZ (2019), addressed export-related issues and strategies to enhance exports and productivity with ILO (2021), and made valuable contributions to disaster management initiatives as a private sector expert and regional connectivity projects with USAID (2013-2022).
